The Mainline Difference
Forcing a square peg into a round hole is a dream situation, said no one ever. So over the years, CIOs have had to compromise on the choice of IT solutions that solve their business problems (or solve most of their problems), modify their business process, or build their own. Data Center management was much easier for IT shops that had a single vendor installation – integration, migration, problem resolution, billing, etc. were easier. One throat to choke. But at what cost? Was the solution optimal? Was it efficient and economical? Did it support business growth? And were they locked in?
Advance to 2020 and most enterprises are multivendor and multi-cloud, with a myriad of solution choices available to them in the market. New products and offerings are being released almost daily. This again leads to a solution selection challenge – will it be efficient, stable, and well architected? Will it easily integrate into your existing implementation? Will it support future growth? Will the vendor be around in 5 years?
High-Value, Customized Technology Solutions
Mainline’s 30+ year history mirrors this IT transformation and evolution. Incorporated in 1989 in Tallahassee, Florida, Mainline Information Systems started as a single-vendor solution provider, solving customer problems with IBM products and services. As our customers’ needs changed and the industry offerings rapidly expanded, Mainline transitioned to become an IT consulting firm and solution provider, offering high-value customized technology solutions to businesses across all 50 states and Puerto Rico. In addition to IT challenges, globalization requirements have led Mainline to expand and serve customers in Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
With over 400 IT professionals, Mainline acts as an independent advisor to find the best solution for your business needs and strategy. We hold the highest level of partnerships with technology companies such as IBM, HPE, Dell EMC, NetApp, Broadcom (CA, Brocade), Cisco, Juniper, Pure Storage, and more. Our customers can be assured that we have met the stringent certification requirements set by these technology companies, enabling us to select, architect, plan, and integrate today’s top solutions into their environment.
What Makes Us Different
At Mainline, we use our technical skills and consultative approach to build solutions for our customers that enable them to tackle their most critical business initiatives. We develop long-term relationships with our clients by working closely with them to gain their trust.
The average tenure at Mainline is 9.2 years, and 50% of our employees have been with the company 10 years or more. Compared to the IT industry average of just 1.8 years speaks volumes to the integrity of our employees, our business and our culture.
When companies work with us, they also benefit from our strategic partnerships with industry technology leaders, where we have access to technical resources, local teams, planning and support resources and special programs and offers. Our team of experts are experienced across all major technology platforms and we help customers maximize their investment.
Simply put, using a consultative approach, we listen to what our customers want and build solutions that align with their goals. And since no one tells it better than our customers, see what Carhartt, PACCAR, One Main Financial, and other satisfied clients have to say here.
Our Financial Position
The COVID-19 pandemic has had far-reaching consequences beyond the health effects of the disease itself. Almost every industry has felt economic impacts such as shrinking revenues, loss of jobs, supply constraints, or process reengineering. In these difficult times, it is important to have confidence in the financial stability of your key suppliers.
Mainline is a privately held company with a long history of financial stability. In contrast to a US economy that declined 34% year over year, Mainline grew top line revenue by 8% in the first half of 2020. Mainline has remained debt-free for each of its 33 years in business and added 10% to its headcount year to date. When it comes to work-from-home, Mainline has been a leader with the majority of employees working from home (or more likely in front of customers) since the 1990s. When times got tough for our customers, Mainline didn’t miss a beat in ensuring stability for their IT solutions.
Services to put it all together
With our expert IT Services practice, Mainline works with our clients from the initial IT assessment and strategy development to the implementation and support of their tailored business IT solution. Mainline Services can help with every stage of the delivery process by offering Advisory Services, Implementation Services, and Managed Services. Our diverse portfolio of services enables companies to enhance their infrastructure with everything from hardware refresh to data migration. We can also serve as an extension of your company’s supporting IT staff through our Managed Services and support offerings or short or long-term Staffing Services.
Experience Technology First-Hand
Mainline offers an Innovation Center, featuring products and solutions from a variety of providers who are market leaders in data, collaboration, and smarter computing. Our experts will design an experience that matches your business objectives.
At the Innovation Center, you can see our technologies first-hand, which include HCI solutions, Business Analytics, Cyber Security solutions, Data Protection & Storage technologies, Enterprise Servers, Networking solutions, and many more. We can help facilitate a Proof of Concept (POC) or Proof of Technology (POT), Beta testing, product demonstrations, performance planning, and other hands-on (virtual) sessions.
Caring About the Community
Investing our profits back into the community is part of our reason for being. A key goal for Mainline’s Chairman and Founder, Rick Kearney, is ending homelessness in his community, to which he continues to provide financial support and leadership to multiple programs in the Tallahassee area. The Kearney Center, a 24-hour comprehensive emergency service center and a path to self-sufficiency for those who would otherwise be homeless, has become a model for other communities in the state of Florida, who are seeking similar goals. Other associated organizations supported by Rick include CESC, Westgate, The Dwellings, and CESC Healthcare Services.
In addition to the work being done in Tallahassee, home to Mainline headquarters, Mainline employees are encouraged to be involved in the communities in which they live and work. Some of the organizations we support include Make a Wish, American Heart Association, Special Olympics, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Ronald McDonald House and more.
