IBM Recognizes Mainline for Outstanding Achievements in Business
and Technology Excellence
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - JUNE 18, 2009 - Mainline Information SystemsTM, an IBM premier
business partner, was named winner of the award for "Outstanding Complementary Services
Growth Solution" in the 2009 IBM Beacon Awards competition for delivering outstanding
value and innovative approaches that help clients address unique business challenges.
The IBM Beacon Awards are an integral part of IBM's PartnerWorld program that provides
industry recognition, increased visibility and promotional opportunities to IBM global
Business Partners.
"Mainline is thrilled to be recognized for excellence in the Complementary Services Growth
category," said Rick Kearney, president of Mainline. "Receiving an IBM Beacon Award is an
honor that only a select few business partners are fortunate enough to achieve, and we are
delighted to be acknowledged for the value that we provide to our customers." |

Mainline won the award based on the solution its Security Solutions Group provided to New Seasons Market, a small grocery food chain of nine stores in Portland, Oregon. New Seasons was concerned about
their security and PCI compliancy status after learning that another grocery food chain in the
Northeast had 4.2 million credit card numbers stolen, even after passing a PCI audit. An
initial PCI assessment audit and additional security services were performed by IBM Global
Services and Mainline. As a result, New Seasons purchased ISS GX3002 Proventia Intrusion
Prevention Systems for all their stores using Siteprotector to monitor and manage their
network appliances.
The IBM Beacon Awards recognize excellence in the development and delivery of solutions
and services that Business Partners deliver to clients around the world. More than 340
nominations were judged by a team of leading industry journalists, analysts and IBM
executives, who selected winners and finalists in 22 award categories.
"The Beacon Award is a well known and highly regarded IBM accolade that positions Mainline
in the forefront of IBM's Business Partner community," said Kearney. "Customers are aware
that this award is only bestowed upon partners who stand apart from their competitors in
their ability to provide IBM solutions that result in business success."
Mainline also received recognition as a finalist in the "Outstanding Virtualization and
Consolidation Solution" and "Winning Solution with Power Systems and AIX" categories.
"IBM is dedicated to helping our global Business Partners deliver innovative solutions that
enable our joint clients to transform their business operations," said Rich Hume, general
manager, IBM Global Business Partner Organization. "Mainline was recognized in
Outstanding Complementary Services Growth Solution based on its technology leadership
and commitment to delivering customer value. This award is a testament to Mainline?s
commitment to delivering on IBM's smarter planet vision."
