Speaker Bios
Warren Sirota - Warren Sirota is Segment Executive in IBM's Business Continuity and Recovery Services organization. Warren has worked at the forefront of IT for over thirty years, focusing on the convergence of computers and communications, applications for people-to-people communications, and business strategy. His experience spans service line and product management, line-of-business development, call center design, implementation and management, consulting, and strategic planning. Warren has a successful track record for creating innovative approaches that address business issues and opportunities, taking them from analysis and planning through real-world implementation. He regularly speaks at industry events and has published many articles and essays in trade journals and magazines.
Brian Taylor - Brian Taylor is a Security Solutions Architect for IBM Internet Security Systems. A 10-year veteran in the Information Security field, Brian has worked in several InfoSec disciplines including vulnerability assessment, intrusion detection and prevention as well as disaster recovery and business continuity. He was also credited with co-discovery of the W32/DarkMachine virus in 2001.
Victor Avelar - Victor Avelar is a Strategic Research Analyst at APC. He is responsible for data center design and operations research, and he consults with clients on risk assessment and design practices to optimize the availability of their data center environments. Victor holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from Babson College. He is a member of AFCOM and the American Society for Quality.
Boyd Walters - Boyd Walters is a National Account Executive for Mainline Disaster Recovery Services. In this capacity, he provides consulting services as well as focuses on the marketing and delivery of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Solutions. Prior to his employment at Mainline, Mr. Walters was a Principal for IBM, with focus on Business Resilience and Continuity Services, and for over ten years, he was a senior consultant with IBM's Business Continuity and Recovery Consulting group.
